Out of Charatcer

Okay, so I took a very big leap and decided to try and make a web comic. I put it on deviantart.com first and so far I have a person who likes it. This is a tease for it and it was my first time really coloring on the computer. It's fun! Anyway, so the story is about killed of characters from different books and where they go after wards. Enjoy!

Villager

This girl is a punk, or whatever a punk was back in the olden days. I'll ask my grandpa what they were called. Anyway, she might be a punk, but she is one that means well. That smile says that she is hiding something, but more likely a surprise party in the barn or a prepared meal without being asked. I gave her short hair and put it in a handkerchief so she looked like she grew up somewhere were you can't really have long hair. A farm or something like that. Her sweater is made out of a scratchy material which was clean when I imagined it. Yet another character I met in a dream.

Faerie or Alien?

In my opinion, this character in a mix of something from "Avatar" and "Atlantis". The fact that she has no eye pupils makes it look really freaky in a cool way. I made her skin dark because I felt that it went better with the form of hair style. She could be a lot of things. A spirit a faerie. By brother opted for an alien, but I voted against that one. Don't ask me what the two dots on her forehead are because I really don't know. I thought they were just meant to be there. It's like an alien asking, "Why do you humans have noses?" It's just a question that really doesn't have an answer.

Sapphira

You can stop your wolf-whistling, I know she looks good! You can tell I'm not very modest. In person I am, but in writing, no way! This is yet another character I met in a dream. "Met" is a bit on an understatement. I was her actually. Her hair is a dirty blond and has blue eyes. I was a gypsy in the story "The Hunch Back of Notre Dame", the Disney version. I was called the albino Gypsy because usually, gypsies are dark haired and dark eyed. Frollo was being creepy in my dream to I willed myself to wake up. What can you expect from a creepy Disney villain who has no self control? Yeesh! Anyway, I like the graceful look I gave her. I named her 'Sapphira' which means sapphire in the Gypsy language. Funny, considering the other character in the movie was named Ezmerelda, which means emerald. It just goes to show ya, the pretty girls in Disney movies get the pretty names.

Hope

I found a model picture in a hair magazine and I wanted to try it out. I think she turned out nice. Of course the real picture looked WAY better, but this was a demo of what I could do. Not one of my favorites but I seem to lean more towards the cartoon drawings. But it is always good to try new things.

Lily

I really like this character. She is down to earth. When I look at her face, I can tell she isn't wearing any make-up. I based this character around Lily Evans from Harry Potter to tell you the truth. Imagine her with red hair and green eyes and pale skin. Pretty right? She has a look of innocence and I think she is a really reliable person. Simple, clean and I think that she would be some where in her teens, older teens anyway,

Seaside Thinking

I know, this is another drawing in orange, but it was all that I had. Believe it or not, I was drawing this while I was at Pixar!!!!! I was actually at the place that I want to work! I was eating in their cafe! It was so amazing! Naturally, the place inspired me and I drew this girl. You will notice I went back to the Cinderellaish dress. I tend to go to that when I feel like my girl characters are out and about. I am very proud of the hand in the drawing. Not a weird thing to be proud of. It doesn't look too big or too small and it looks really nice! Not to mention I didn't put the thumb on the wrong side of the hand this time! I imagined her sitting on the rocks by the beach, looking out at the ocean. Not looking for something, but thinking about something. I notice that I usually make my characters think in their state of being. I think she looks pensive and sol em. But I think I did push her head too far out. At least it's still on her neck!

Rick Castle

If any of you have ever seen the show "Castle" then I have a treat for you! I was watching it and I pulled out my sketch book and drew Rick Castle. He is so awesome! I will let you decide whether or not he looks like the real thing.

Model Milkmaid

We can all agree that this girl looks like a milkmaid, her clothes make her look like it anyway. But the face that I drew suggests other wise. More like a model but I think her eyes says that she isn't really up for that life. This picture goes to all those pretty faced girls who are treated like they are only good for looking at. This gal is a hard worker. The only thing I really have to say about my picture that I can criticize myself on is that I made the neck a little bit too long. Oh well! Life's too short.

More Dragons!

If you have seen the other dragon that I drew, you can see the difference between the two. I'm not talking about size, I'm talking about lines. You can stop scratching your heads because I am about to explain. The other dragon was drawn with very sharp edges and looked sinister. This one is round and fat looking. That's because it is a baby Dragon. People commented that it looked more like a flying pig or cow. Maybe so, but most magical creaturs are based off of real animals, so there. I drew this little guy in different positions. One of the problems I used to run into was that I could never re-draw a drawing in a different position. They always looked too different to be the same thing. But I really mastered that with these drawings. I drew the baby sitting, flying and sleeping. I personally like the flying one. It's little limbs are just kind of out there because it's wings are not strong enough to really hold all of him up yet. The body, I stuck to a kind of pear shape, which gave it the appearance of a fat puppy. The horns and the scales on it's back are round and smooths over and he has no claws, so you can tell he really won't hurt anyone. And the final thing is that I didn't add a mouth. I don't think this little guy had much to say, his cuteness says it all.

Jack-Jack Parr from Pixar

This is Jack-Jack Parr from Pixar's "The Incredibles". I know you're used to him as a baby, but I was imagining a sequel based around Jack-Jack and then I thought, "Well, what would this 'Older Jack-Jack' look like?" So, I took a pencil (which was orange at the time) and drew a thirteen year old Jack-Jack. DON'T PANIC! Yes, he is in his underwear, but there is a reason for that. I have trouble with getting proportions right, so I wanted to practice. So I drew Jack-Jack in his 'unmentionables'. I also wanted to see if I could get muscles right. He is a little beefy but all those super powers he needs to keep in check probably have something to do with that. Anyway, I spent a lot of time looking at pictures of Jack-Jack from the movie. I wanted to make sure that, even though he was older, you could still tell that he was the same lovable Jack-Jack. I thought that he would keep his hair in the same kind of style as the real movie, but he was obviously going to have more and I didn't want to make it too pointy. I gave him the wide, innocent eyes and the small smile. I wonder what the people at Pixar would think....Hmmmm.

Watercolor Girl

Wow, you have got me in a good mood because look! Another water color! I did this a while ago during my one, and only, art lesson. Yes, now you know the truth. I have never taken an art lesson in my life! Sad, I know. But something always seems to get in the way. But I hope that all changes real soon. Anyway, back to the painting. This is just a girl. She doesn't have a name. But if I were to name her, it would be Maggie. This is one of the water colors that actually worked for me. I was a little worried because I didn't want the skin to look all blotchy. It did, but that is what's great about watercolors, they kind of make any mistake look great! I said kind of. This was one of the first "real life" paintings/drawings that I have done. I have a few more, but I believe this one is the first. Feast your eyes, this is a special painting....okay, you can stop now, the moment is gone.

Colored Rose

I know what you're thinking..."COLOR! LOOK AT THIS! SHE ACTUALLY ADDED COLOR TO HER DRAWING!" Keep your shirts on. Haha, yes, I did paint this one. This was a cover demo for a story I was writing called "Roses and Rings". I love drawing roses when I'm bored. But my paints happened to be close by so I painted this one. I like watercolors when they don't leak in places you don't want them to. This one is one of my favorites, probably because I added my own little flair to the petals by coloring them in with stripes.

Stumpy the Troll

Funny how this drawing started out. Look at the nose on the troll. Look familiar? I actually drew the nose of Grumpy the Dwarf from "Snow White" out of boredom. Then, the rest of the character kind of formed around it. He has a kind of stupid, yet sad look about him. Of course, he isn't the most attractive bump of a log. But I think he is thinking. About what I don't really know. But I could probably tell you that he has been sitting on that stump for a very long time.

Maeve is Puzzled

I just love the expression on this gals face. I based this character off of a friend. I decided to name her "Maeve". It took me a while to make her looked the way I wanted her to. I could say a few words that describe her. "Ditsy, puzzled, adorable, independent, creative, fun, quirky," The list could go on.

Mr. Smooth

O...M...G...Did I draw that? Of course I did! But this is one of the best guys that I have ever done. Not a lie. Personally, I think he looks cocky, smooth, and thinks he's a ladies man. Most people said that it looked like Flinn Rider from Disney's "Tangled". I have to admit, it does, but I swear, I drew this before the movie, or the trailers, ever came out. Isn't it irritating when you make something and someone ,who you never even met, makes the same thing and makes a fortune? Trust me, it's annoying. Sometimes, you even question whether businesses are watching you, reading your mind and whenever a good idea comes BANG! It's on the market. A coincidence or a evil creativity stealing plan?

Prince of E-bay

So, this drawing is a rather simple one. Nothing special, but I did feel like it needed to be posted. You can tell, hopefully, that this is a prince. (his crown should give it away) I had a dream two nights ago that there was a school dance. The school board had found a prince on E-bay and invited him to the dance. This was obviously ment to get more people to go. I went and danced with him, suprise suprise. And only after the first dance we fell in love. The dance was a three nighter, meaning it was every evening for three nights. And every time a special song (I don't know what) came on, I would go and dance with the prince. However, the prince asked me to marry him. In the dream I was only in High School, but I was stupid and said yes. But sadley, we couldn't get married, because he had to go back to the land of E-bay. I never got to be with my prince, but if you see this face on E-bay anywhere, please, give me the heads up.

Dragon or Cheerleader?

I give you permission to laugh when I say that I based this dragon off of a cheerleader I know. I was sketching in class and I looked at her and my pencil just kind of drew it. Okay, so she doesn't look EXACTLY like the picture, but if she was a dragon, this is what she would look like. Again, this drawing has a creepy, villian feeling to it. It gives me the shivers. The eyes seemed to say, "You are not worth my time and I know what you are thinking." You can see why I based it off a cheerleader. Not that there is anything wrong with them! No! Of course not! But dragons will be dragons and cheerleaders will be cheerleaders.

Textology

You can not believe how excited I am for this art blog! I want opinions people so don't be afraid to give yours! This drawing represents texting. I see a lot of people doing it and, lets face it, you do to. I see a lot of my friends just waisting their time texting so I drew this picture. I showed it to a few people and they said it had a "horror movie" feeling to it. I just smiled and replied, "Yes, thats the point." Personally, I think the hand in the phone is the best I have ever done. I wonder what the rest of the body looks like...hmmm, guess we'll never know!
